OpenIDM 7.1 Installation

This article explained how to installation OpenIDM 7.1. Which is the latest version and there is no much difference in the installation process between the old version (6.5) and the new version (7.1). OpenIDM not having any .exe or .rpm file to install and which means that we need to start the server directly.
OpenIDM needs a backend database, and its supporting the following database
- Oracle
- MySQL
- MSSql
- DB2
- OpenDJ
OpenIDM 7.1 by default supporting OpenDJ as a backend database, nothing to install manually, it’s automatically installed OpenDJ and executes the required scripts.
Step 1: Register Account
Register an account on ForgeRock backstage website if not having else skipped the step
Step 2: Download OpenIDM 7.1
First up all login into ForgeRock backstage website and then go to Download, Identity Management and then select version 7.1 and click on the download
Step 3: Start OpenIDM
Unzip the file and then execute the start.bat or start.sh according to OS. Then it will install OpenDJ internally and will start.
Step 4: OpenIDM Access URL
Default HTTP port: 8080
By default admin URL: http://localhost:8080/admin
By default self-service/end-user portal URL: http://localhost:8080/
Step 5: OpenIDM Access Credential
By default Admin username: openidm-admin
By default Admin password: openidm-admin
